I wrote a few weeks ago a typically-pissed article about hypocrisy and lie in audio and how you, the fools, allow it exists in audio, despite that we would hardly permit it to exist in our “out of audio live”. I did not posted this article yet but an...

Hi Romy,I've seen and heard many products in which an aspect of the design is interesting, even thought provoking but where that idea's implementation is poorly achieved. It doesn't mean that one can't learn anything from the product even if it's onl...

Part 3: Sound
The sound generally at CES was disgusting. There were virtually no rooms with something that might be marginally conceded interesting. There were some more or less interesting episodes, though… All interesting episodes, no mater how fe...

[quote user="Jim Smith"]I've been following this line (mostly the big one) with great interest since it was first mentioned. It's definitely the most interesting high-efficiency horn line available, as far as I can see. I've been asked to look a...

The subject of this head is not the Continuum Turntable but rather the little frighten Moron with sentimental name Michael Fremer. It is important to note that Michael Fremer is not just a Moron own problems but the persons who is with his proactive ...

When I meet Jonathan Valin I laugh. Jonathan is soft-spoken, kind-mannered person who does not have that revolting attitude of a typical audio reviewer. Most of audio reviewers that I met behaved like idiots, claiming: “the entire wo...

I was trying to find out what drivers the Allen Sides’ speaker uses and found a lot of noise about this among the people of Guitar Center – it is not surprising considering Allen Sides background.

One thing I have noticed at CES is that many successful audio component companies are incorporating a lot more physical design elements into their creations. They have focused more on the component as a symbol of personal style expressed by...

Long have I admired this performance, which I acquired on cassette about fifteen years ago. I always took it with me on long trips, although nowadays rental cars do not come equipped with tape players, so I do need the CD.Once, taking a sid...

"FM is a public domain"I'd imagine if some less than scrupulous individual took to recording live broadcasts and then produced extremely high quality audio CD's from them for general sale, the performers and the radio station might have something to ...

Romy,Now that I am home for a couple weeks after the CES extravaganza I am listening to my system and wondering why I thought I needed a tweeter at all. For me, the problem with experimenting with the e-bay $200 plasma tweeters is the health iss...

I am putting together a system from the ground up, and while I am almost certain that I will be getting the CEC TLOX transport, I am at a loss as where to start in terms of auditioning DACS, it having been quite some time since last bought anything d...

Paul hear the Lamm amp's was one of my interests at CES. The only way to come to a verdict abought the ml3would have been If there were the possibility to switch from one amp to the other, and then compare. At lea...

Robert, sorry but you yourself in the “doormatish” position. You see, many audio people elevate the individuals who write for audio publication to some kind of shrine level and attribute to them some kind of special qualities, expecting them to b...

Hi RomyI have never purchased a manufactured loudspeaker I've built my own and they were all much more interesting musically than any that I've herd on the market. After seeing the CES voodoo you get an understanding that it is about(the con...

Different “audio journalists” here and there with awe noted
the Lamm, Kubala-Sosna, Emm, TechDAS, Verity room at CES 2015 that reportedly mark one million dollars of equipment

Unquestionably it was Clark Johnson with his ultimate cure for CD misery. Clark is balanced mentally and psychologically (as far as a person who professionally spent tens years in the audio industry could be balanced) but when he showed me his new di...

I was captivated by the extraordinary Acapella tweeter at CES this year in their Violon III speaker demo...I think I had heard a version of this tweeter before in a different acapella speaker, and never noticed it as being wonderful...but t...

Romy, I am quite sure I know less about GIP then you... US rep? Not Joe Roberts, I hope. On the brochure they have web-site addresses, there are two of them: www.silbatoneacoustics.com and www.gip-laboratory.com. It is possible that those are two sep...

Looking at the pictures of CES I came across a new Seoul-based company Silbatone Acoustics that show off a new speaker “APORIA” in Vegas. It is a back-loaded Manger.
What I read the company philosophy I was not pleased.

Of course many of the most important discoveries are made purely by accident...Most of the discoveris I have made in audio have had an element of chance in them. Sometimes you go to Las Vegas to *roll the dice*. :-)But your point is hard to argue fro...

I wonder if any new interning horns ideas are present at CES. There is a post at the hi-fi-heroin site:
http://hifiheroin.blogspot.com/2011/01/ces-preview-you-actually-want-to-see.html
… that depicts a new speaker. I kind of like...

Dave used to show (off) this system in the largest room available at CES. Lines formed and IIRC reservations were taken. I auditioned it twice and each time was the best BIG SOUND I had ever heard. Only, he wasn't careful about correct polarity.

I begun to receive those emails asking where was the best sound and which room sounded the best at the show. Those kind of bogus questions are absolutely irrelevant and have no purpose of meaning. All together: there was no valuable or even interesti...
